Natural UK has recently applied and been successfully awarded capital funding from the Large Scale Infrastructure and Reprocessing Facilities in Wales Fund. This programme aims to ‘provide support to the development of reprocessing infrastructure, to add value to recycled materials and provide high quality raw materials for Welsh manufacturers.’ The programme of support assists in the investment in facilities which will increase their capacity to reprocess commercial and industrial waste, with a focus on source segregated waste.
Its primary purpose is to develop Wales’ reprocessing infrastructure and develop the market for high quality recyclate. Priority materials include nappy waste and Adult Hygiene Products, which can contribute in excess of 5% of all materials currently being sent to landfill.
